Thread: Vector strikes and cover saves

Hey,

I've not found a satisfactory answer to the question: do models get cover saves from vector strikes. Just wondering what the community here thinks. (please forgive me if this is a dead issue).

Seems like the VS rules don't really fit 100% into a specific category; not really a shooting attack and not really a close combat attack. I understand the argument that it's a close combat attack based on the 'fluff' of the creature attacking with claws and the like and under the cover save rule it states you can't benefit from cover saves in close combat. However, unlike the sweeping attacks a chariot user gets (whose rule spells out no cover saves allowed), the rule for vector strike doesn't say no to cover saves.
