Obligatory Heavy vs Hobby post tournament thread

So it seemed like about half the lists there were on the softer side. Maybe it's getting through to people now! :P

I know I had fun getting my ass handed to me all day but hey I got to play 3 games with my harlies and they know how to roll 2s like a boss!

I lost 3 games and it was liberating.......

The results were lopsided. More 0's than ever before. One poor SOB didn't score a point all day long. I blame ITC...and Goatboy.

I'm personally looking forward to the Wonko's narrative not-tournament. Hopefully I'll get to go. Stupid life getting in the way of fun...

Yep. We've been dealing with some health issues at home and my ability to get away will depend on how things are the morning of. That said, I've been furiously painting to get stuff ready.

I will say that just stopping by yesterday and seeing what was out their was encouraging for someone like me trying to get back in to it. May be I can play next month.

    My two cents would be

Please start the tournament at 10:30am and stick to 2 hr rounds. This should have us ending around 6 PM. (2hr+2hr+2hr+1hr+15min+15min). I think this help those with wives and children not be in such a rush.

-The roll of 6 on the maelstrom table either needs to be removed or modified to just having more units in your deployment zone than your opponent. It is very very difficult deny your opponent in Warhammer 40k Age of Drop Pod edition.

Don't start scoring maelstrom points until the end of turn 2. Rolling kill two units against a null deployment army pretty much starts you 2 points down due entirely to you not winning the roll to go first.

Seeing the tournament and -- more importantly -- my friends! was super encouraging. I'm itching to get back in. Now if I can only find a complete army for sale somewhere that's 1) cheap and 2) doesn't suck, I'll be in business. I know, good luck with that, but hey, you gotta start somewhere...

Oh yeah, it's good to be back -- glad this forum is still here.
Malory: Jesus, God, Sterling. School girls?!
Archer: Oh, those are just costumes.
Malory: And I suppose that makes it better?
    Archer: Doesn't it?
