    Bring Back 192837465!!!!!!!

After re-reading the terms and agreements of the forums, it seems to me that posting comments in a thread that is off topic isn't an infraction. At least not per the terms and agreements we all read and checked off on before becoming a member. Seems like the wanna be 1%ers on this forum need to re-think their thought processes and stop hating on someone because he doesn't fit into their mold.

Sure i laughed the first few times, but it's really messed up to delete people's post when they aren't the only ones "Off Topic" in a thread. That's what makes these forums different to the other area boards, the fact that we had activity every day in most every thread, the board is super lame when no one is posting for days at a time.

really, banning people from a friendly local forum like this one should be reserved for serious infractions. there are plenty of people that post dumb stuff totally off topic and troll these forums. Sam didn't do anything that should have gotten him kicked off the forum. in fact, he made the forum much more entertaining to read.

the admins on this forum have been getting a little out of hand with editing/deleting users' posts and banning people. Seriously, throwing your weight around like that and banning people that you and everyone else in the club knows in real life is only going to damage the community. do you really want that?

    Guys,

Making a case for him on the boards doesn't do anything good. Sam is a big boy and can take care of himself. If its that important to him he can reach out to me and we can talk about it. The other mods/admins banned him and I fully support what they do always as I entrust them to watch these boards mainly because that is their job.

That being said if Sam wants to do anything he just needs to reach out to me. He has my phone number and can reach me on facebook. Besides I like Sam even tohugh he can be silly at times.

After reading this I have decided that the movie "Pineaple Express" should redo one of its quotes from:

"But if you do something heroic then you'll come back as like an eagle or a dragon, or Jude Law."

    To:

"But if you do something heroic then you'll come back as like an eagle or a dragon, or Nick Rose."

    Ben,

Only two people have been banned for the year+ this forum has been up and running and it has happened in recent weeks for people getting out of hand. One of them has been restored from unban. People need to remember that this is not AMM and these boards are not for the old BFG community. People complained that AMM never had moderators and now they complain that there are rules and moderators. That being said we have moderators and rules for people to follow to help the growth of the community. This is board is for all of Central Texas and there are 5x the personalities are on here then AMM. The old styles of people being able to troll make jokes of people and think they would be okay does not cross well outside the group who are trying to join the community. We have people ranging from 14 years old all the way to 50+. Having ten people who think they can joke around because of old times isn’t going to work I am sorry but times change and the community changes with or without you and that has been a hard lesson for a lot of people to learn even myself and others.

Look at the Warmachine group that has grown on the boards and the diversity of that group. We never had that on AMM or the size and the group interacts differently from anyone else and they are helpful.

I restored this post under better judgement to be transparant as possibile. Please be civil.

There are only 155 active accounts on the forum. The mods/admins can't be the 1% because there's more than 1.55 mods and/or admins. If anything, it's more like the 5%'ers, and somehow that just loses a lot as a rallying point.

I'm not trying to make a case for him or anything but i know for a fact that Sam doesn't give a hard time to people he doesn't know personally. I mean, hell i've seen countless times people posting in the introductory thread and sam welcoming them to the boards. I think rippin on people and giving your friends a hard time shows the sort of closeness our community has with each other. I don't know how you can justify deleting someones post if they aren't being racist/homophobic/sexist etc. I just don't get the point of taking away someones voice because he's messing with his friends.

Nick, dude, Sam did reach out to you last Thursday in person, and you just laughed at him and waved your hand. And I've told you on the phone the circumstances behind his banning were bogus. Maybe you don't remember because it was in the thick of a conversation, but it did happen.

Like I said in the other thread, If I can put up with Brian's inane threats of physical violence, and trapper keeper insults: those who don't like Sam can put up with him. Especially since he hasn't really called anyone out by name with anything specifically insulting or harmful. Sam at the time of his banning wasn't specifically trolling. He complained that he was being censored, and his posts were edited. The same thing you said about Forum Members Behavior should also apply to the Mods. The complaints against Sam came from the moderation community, not the members, and because a few folks didn't care for him they effed with his posts.

    EDIT:

If this is going to be a primary way for folks to distribute information about the hobby locally and participate in local events: or at least the way you intend it to be, we have to be a little more understanding.

And we're all grown ups, or at least most of us are, we have real lives that are far more important than this game. We should be able to talk through whatever it is that. (With the exception of Brain and I). Brain may never like me, but that's OK, I don't really know him I'm OK with some dude I've literally said maybe 5 sentences to in person not liking me). But guys like you and Cook for instance should get along, if you want to go on playing different styles of warhammer, fine: disagree on the core fundaments of the game. But as fun, friendly rational people there's no reason to have a goddamned spat. This message is for both you and Cook. And anyone else with squabbles germane to things as trivial as attending and winning tournaments.

We get in this mindset and we can't shake it.
