Probably closest thing would be thunderhawked terminators which probably will also kill a warhound in one assault but also cost more than the warhound not even counting the cost of the thunderhawk.

I am no one. I traced the clicks to see who had linked to my blog post.

I read this Idea on dakkadakka and I think its a really good one. Some one said that NOVA was using a system where you get to add one thing to the standard FOC. So in addition to the FOC you could take allies to fill your extra slot. If you don't take allies you could take a data slate or a formation. Basically chose one thing to add to the FOC.

Uh what does "one thing" entail.

Is it, one allied detachment? One allied unit?

1 detachment or 1 dataslate or 1 formation.

Also would just like to point out that I brought a eldar lynx (which has a pulsar) to the tournament yesterday, and guess what. I lost 2/3 rounds. Now to be fair my list was absolute garbage with a lynx added in. I did this to make it more even. And I lost 2 rounds. Let this be a lesson to all yall that the D=Win idea some of you have is wrong. If you dont take a competitive list with your super heavy, the game is really quite even.

I would still highly suggest playing 6 months of unrestricted tournaments with escalation, knights, and strongholds all included. Per GW, those are core products to be used in standard games of 40k. All of the "whomever buys an expensive model will win" arguments currently have zero data to back them up. Apoc is a different game, with different circumstances (many more points, multiple players/codexes per side), and so doesn't really count.

Play unrestricted for 6 months, give players time to adapt to the meta. After 4-6 months, then add in comp or other balancing decisions if they are necessary.
