    WM/H Journeyman League Nov 4 -> Dec 11 @ DL Austin

Alright, so let's do this journeyman league.

    6 weeks, nov 4 through dec 11.

    Rules at

    http://privateerpress.com/files/Jour...ue%20Rules.pdf

Poll results are in, use the original battleboxes or the official alternates specified in the rules pdf above.

Joining the league is free, just show up at Dragon's Lair and play, and report your results to me. Preferably on Wednesday nights, but other days can count as well as long as the games are at DL and both players PM me.

To make things more interesting - if we get 16 people signed up for the league, I'll give the overall winner a privateer press model of his/her choice (no huge bases, no out of print stuff).

Points scoring, for people who have PP blocked at work

Wins are worth 3 points each. Losses and draws are worth 2 points each.

    • Warcasters, warlocks, warbeasts, warjacks, and solos: 3 points for large-based models, 2 points for medium- based models, and 1 point for small-based models
    • Battle engines: 5 points
    • Colossals and gargantuans: 7 points
    • Units of two models: 2 points
    • Units of three to six models: 3 points
    • Units of seven or more models: 4 points
    • Units of only medium-based models: 1 additional point • Units of only large-based models: 2 additional points

I'm good with alternates, as it lets me use a caster I like and at least one jack I will use. The base BB is useless to me though. I could see custom BB's being broke(Haley's) , but then again something else like Sloan, or Kraye would be ok I think.

I think custom is ok and should be considered to allow new players to play what they want. I already voted Official but the thought of having to buy a Hammersmith is rather dull.

I voted to go with the build-a-box variety. Looks like I will probably be out-voted though. I'll play either way, but I don't see a huge issue with custom battleboxes, especially if Cody is given veto rights. I would add a restriction to say no character jack/beasts as part of the battlebox, which should help remove a lot of the potentially stupid combos. Heck, even if you want to say "you must use a caster/lock that is included in one of the official battleboxes" that would be fine with me. but really, how much worse can you get than pDenny?

I'm just not a fan of the Ret options... Kaelyssa looks like a decent caster that i have little experience, so I would like to play her a bit anyways, but man her battlebox sucks. 3 of the least-used ret 'jacks doesn't seem fun. the alternate with Ossyan is slightly better, but would require buying a second vyre kit, which I likely wont' do or proxying a sphinx the whole time.

I will buy your Griffon from you! It is by far my most used Jack!

I voted Build-a-box, but I could play Circle or Trolls or something if I lose.

I voted build a box, as I'd like to at least start with some painted minis on the table, and then I could start with my already done Axis and do 2 heavies, instead of having to paint up the entire battlebox. Have no problem running the base box however, never played it. Just got to go yell at mold lines...

Yeah I would like to change my answer officially to Build a box variety. The only thing I would like to change is the Hammersmith with pCaine to a hunter or something more useful.

I voted for using the official battle boxes, but I don't really care either way if a lot people have a strong preference to build their own battle box for the league.

If Chris and I both change our vote to build a box, the results of the poll would be tied, right? 6 for official and 6 for build a box.

    Meh.
    better question.
what factions are going to be representin'?
Or are we going to have Haley wars everywheres?
The point of the game is having fun. The objective is to win.

I'm tempted to change my vote for build-a-box in the hopes that someone tries to run Makeda 3 or Butcher 3 as their box warlock/warcaster.
