GT & IGT scale tournament idea

Ok so I had a crazy idea of creating a tournament system, something a little different than other GTs or IGTs.
This is the tournament set up that I was thinking about. Day One would be a four game day with four brackets based around the 40k Segmentums including Segmentum Obscurus, Segmentum Pacificus, Ultima Segmentum, and Segmentum Tempestus. Each of the Segmentums surrounds the Segmentum Solar which is where Holy Terra is located. Each Segmentum will have an even number of players.
Every bracket would turn out 4 heros:
    1) Best overall (Emperors Champion)
    2) Most Battle points
    3) 2nd overall
    4) 2nd in Battle points
With Day One ending into the Champions ceremony where each of the heros advance into a 16 man single elimination tournament. During the Ceremony there will be a draft where the Emperors Champion from each bracket gets to pick his first round opponent in the Day Two S.E.Tournament. Note that an Emperors champion cannot pick another emperors champion as his day two opponent. After the Champions have picked that should narrow the list to 8 players and the highest ranked (overall points) at that point would pick again until no players remained. This would set up the S.E.T. Bracket. On the second day it would only matter who was on your bracket path to victory, from this point on wins advance you and losses see you leaving the tournament. So battle points would be irrelevant and someone who got 2nd in battle points for his Segmentum could come back and win the whole thing.

I also think that awarding Badges of Valor and Honor over the course of the week end would be cool. Because if we could get other tournaments to award Badges (Nova, Adepticon, Bols con, ECT, Ard Boys) we could make some highly decorated soldiers. And what cooler thing can you think of then showing up with all of your medals and badges in place showing others of your accomplishments! I don’t even know what all we could award people for but I’m sure it would be easier that carrying around a Giant Hammer or a Chain Sword and still people could recognize you as Heros of the Imperium!

    Thoughts?

see i want to create more pazaz to go with the bigger GT, IGT, RGTs. after going to a few i notice that there is no big anouncements, they simply put your name on a paper and slap it on the wall. i would like to see great players spotlighted. there also could add in the part of a bracket system where if you use your wits you can stack the bracket in your favor but someone else could hunt you on the bracket. also this goes from being about pitting best against best and letting them kill each other off but rather let the best meet somewheres down the bracket!

and on the part of Badges, i would say over all winners at the big events would win a badge and maybe a Codex Medal for having overall best out of your codex. also a titan killer/Gargantuan kill for things like Gladiator. and even in the narative track you can be awarded Hero for what ever the missions may be! i just like the idea of bring more "Honor" and "Glory" to the hobby instead of it alway being about "hey i won Adepticon and got $300 in plastic"

OK, think about this from the standpoint of a tournament organizer. In effect, you'd be running 4 smaller tournaments at a time. That sounds like a administrative nightmare (as I know even getting the pairings for 2 simultaneous tournaments can be a pain).
Malory: Jesus, God, Sterling. School girls?!
Archer: Oh, those are just costumes.
Malory: And I suppose that makes it better?
    Archer: Doesn't it?
