Does anybody else find it odd, by the way, that the information age has led to language becoming an oblique and imprecise tool where even the most straightforward phrasing is pored over with chicken entrails and bone tossing to divine the true meaning?

Ok, that was my mistake, a Warhammer Fantasy Battle, no special characters means no named characters from the Army Books. Most battles are only 2,500 points, I keep playing the same armies I played in the previous weeks, because people only bring lists they plan to use in tournaments, no imagination. I tried a challenge a few months ago with no one using magic users or magic items, so my opponents brought in large monsters that only magic weapons could hurt, my mistake again. Now, I am going for a large battle with magic, monsters and wizards, just for something different.
That wasn't your mistake. that sounds like your opponent(s) were being jerk(s).

You can bring necrons but you have to use Tomb King rules. lol the worste codex ever written by GW.
