I was originally opposed to banning Sam when the subject came up. This was a couple of weeks prior to the actual ban, I think I bought him some time at least. Or some more rope to hang himself. but whatever.

My argument was that he was the special kid in the corner that everyone would lol at/with on occasion and he was mostly harmless. Sure, he derailed threads and said lots of stupid things about pretty much whatever, but it was Sam and once you got the hang of these boards you kinda learned to skip over his posts or take them with a grain of salt.

But then I was told that he had to be edited like 30 times in one day. I don't know what it was for, or why, but I don't think that matters at this point. I think he was probably pushing buttons and knew what he was doing. He's not a dumb guy and should have caught on after the first 10 or so edits. But no, he decided to keep pushing buttons. He wanted to find the line and unfortunately by the time he found it, he was already on the other side of it.

I like Sam too. It was good to see him playing 40k again. If he wants to come back, I'm sure he can. But I just hope he comes back with a bit more sense and a lot less non-sense. This board should be what the community uses to find out more about local events, meet-ups, and just more community building. The Epeen wagging contests need to stop and we need to all get back to being constructive -- not saying people can't disagree on the boards, but we should be civil about it. I agree with JWolf too. there are lots of edits. and I think people are too quick to be jerks on the internet. so stop that. Mods shouldn't have to police the boards this much and people need to quit being jerks. seems like a good call.
