Hey guys,

Got a rules question and I'm looking for clarification. I've seen this pop up a few times on articles where the writer is saying transports are bad cause you can't assault out of them after they get destroyed.

Initially, I thought they were wrong. My thought was this:

Game turn 1:
Player 1 turn 1 - moves up rhino
player 2 turn 1 - blows up rhino- guys follow rules for disembarking

Game turn 2:
Player 1 turn 2 - disembarked unit acts normally (ie, can move, shoot and assault)
Player 2 turn 2 - plays normally

BUT, after reading the Disembarkation Restrictions on page 79:
"After Disembarking, models can shoot, counting as having moved, or choose to Run in their subsequent Shooting phase, but cannot declare a charge in their subsequent Assault phase."

I think the issue is the phrase "their subsequent Assault phase" but that could just be me.

On the transport damage table on page 80, there is no reference saying that they cannot assault the following turn, only to refer to page 79 (this reference is under the "wrecked" result) and that is the rule they are referring too.

So little help here guys. Which way do you read it? Are non-assault vehicle transports really that bad now?
