    New Space Marine Codex

Are any of you that currently are not playing Marines planning to switch when the new codex comes out?

I am having a lot of angst about this. I just got 3 Knights and the Knight Codex. That is going to be my jam for a while.

However Marines were my first codex. I used to have a ton of Marine stuff. I never got in to White Scars so I stopped playing Marines.

I love playing Blood Angels and I would like to play Dark Angels but I am actually not starting to believe they are coming out.

CRP and my brother don't believe me and think that beginning Saturday morning I'm buying new models and putting them on the table.

    What are your plans?

Dark Angels were my first army, and if they get an update I'll dust 'em off. The cost reduction for terminators and new Interrogator Chaplain model make me hopeful for my old Deathwing army.

i think the sleeper bonus of that cool demicompany formation is that it all gets objective secured? question mark because the rumors are written fairly loosely. but if true thats pretty badass and i might try to rework my ultras for it
"The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age."

I've been tempted to finish work on my Emperor's Children army. They were originally Chaos SM but have sucked for a while. A drop pod EC army would be neat. All 30k armor too!

The demi company and some of the others are a little restrictive points-wise, especially with me trying to envision using it as a Ravenguard (which is my first love for Marine fluff). There are some cool things in there though. The Librarius detachment for those who want to spend the points on it is pretty sick - success on castings on a 2+ or 3+ depending on the situation? Some buff to maybe make dreadnaughts at least a little more playable.

I was really p*ssed at first with the new RG chapter tactics as scout moves was really the major part of them in the last iteration, but the more I think about it and have talked with other RG fans, it makes for a possibly very nasty alpha-strike list. Shrike and some VV or ASM infiltrated up with 2+ cover in ruins first turn, then alpha striking down with troops who are potentially 4+ cover in the open or 2+ in ruins; some rumors that even the dreads will have shrouded who could then pop smoke to get a sick cover save. Figuring out the right ballance with some of the cumbersome new formations might take a bit, but it makes for some fun trying to figure it out.

i used to have a ton of vanguard vets and assault marines and also captain kevaan shrike

however a combination of their points cost and my inability to play resulted in me selling all of them in dec 2013 and not looking back

i really liked them too but noone wants to run a bunch of guys in jump packs out there to get their heads blown off

I like the looks of the formations. Getting free transports does not suck one bit.

After reading this I have decided that the movie "Pineaple Express" should redo one of its quotes from:

"But if you do something heroic then you'll come back as like an eagle or a dragon, or Jude Law."

    To:

"But if you do something heroic then you'll come back as like an eagle or a dragon, or Nick Rose."

    It does sound pretty amazing.

Wonder if the upgrades on razorbacks are "free". THAT would be scary **** if they were.
