Based on the leaked info, the necron decurion, basically a detachment made up of other formations, appears to have been specifically designed to break your scared brains. Your stopgap nonsolutions are about to die tired and confused.

Make people bring battleforged armies. You don't need more words. Stop worrying about number of "sources" or detachments. You just confuse yourself. Especially when you randomly give tyranids exceptions just because... actually I have no idea why you were ever doing that.

Stop trying to redesign the game by rewriting invisibility or rerollable saves. Not necessary.

Stop trying to overmanage lords of war and superheavies. And stop tryin to discourage them by including Escalation widgets. They are points sinks that can only control a small portion of the table, but are fun and take skill to use. All take-all-comers (TAC) armies should be able to deal with them if you can ALSO expect TAC armies to handle a 5-knight army. Just temporarily ban the revenant reaver and warhound (or don't, whatever). Based on the TranCtan and Vault nerfs theyll get their turn eventually too.

Design a better hobbyist prize category with prize support/trophies/bragging rights rivaling Top Asshat prize. and/or keep doing the A and B tier split brackets on day 2/games 4-6.

Someone please point out any issues that would still arise and I will consider them.

So.. don't try to change the game.. But than only change the game in ways you say so.

5. Somehow magically make a hobbyist prize category with equivalent prizes (we already do, called best painted) People have been trying to do that unsuccessfully for 10 years now. What would you suggest we do, specifically?


While i liked Tyson's missions and look forward to Feb and March i didn't see anything that was the magic bullet or that was any less rule rewritey than what we had tried. He just went a different way with it. I still had to play 5 hive tyrants .

But i will say we have totally backed off the source thing and the comp thing and are pretty in line with your thinking-ish

i think theres a vast difference btw battleforged plus 3 rare-unit bans and the nonsense happening at Vegas or Railhead for a local example.

the 3 bans i could go either way about. i just think banning those 3 in particular is easier than these weird other ways people handle the complete insanity these 3 units represent. after 7th ed changes to D I dont care one way or the other.

I think we all have dropped the mutlicad, formations,etc thing. Some D's need to get put in pants - but for the most part who cares.

Don't like the invis ban either - don't like the only 2 sources as well - but I think LVO had to come up with rules to sit on for a full year for their ITC thing. I get the feeling it will be loosened up like a bad night with Taco bell.

And dangit I need to build my stompa too.
