Noodlers was challenging us, so that is the start of it. When the defender wins they "pursue" the enemy and may claim any unclaimed adjacent space. In this case there are none. Secondly they may take any adjacent territory owned by the enemy. In this case the only option is the Chaos spaceport; but it is protected by them owning the shield generator, and so we aren't able to grab that. No other adjacent options to choose so you defended our space but we gain no territory.

It has to be an adjacent non-special hex owned by the attacking force correct? So even without the shield generator, the space port could not have been captured in this case.
