And I like the "Preferred Enemy: Unpainted" rule.
And I like the "Preferred Enemy: Unpainted" rule.
With the exception of the tourney that required a CAD and the "Old School" tournaments we have had no source limitations at DL. Unbound was allowed at first and was abused out of the gate so was removed. The Houston guys are playing as close to RAW as any other area I have heard about and even they don't allow unbound lists. That tells you how bad it can be. I really don't think we need multiple LOWs to have fun and all the past TO's have run some kind of event where the Titans are allowed.
Personally, I like to play as RAW as possible. However, there are some things that DO need to reigned back or clarified(since GW no longer does timely FAQs). Will we see tournaments that allow a Revenant Titan and two Wraith Knights in a single list? I seriously doubt it. At least, not while I am TO. That is what Apocalypse is for.
i do not agree with this statement. when brash statements like this are said, i actually agree with POX, and say you would not know because you have never tried it. with the exception of unbound raw is fine. it is tournament players who want to craft things to their own liking and create a controlled environment where winning is emphasized and all randomness is taken out of the game.
when i play i like to play maelstrom and have as much as fun as possible. i dont care about randomness, it is part of the fun of playing a tabletop game.
i understand people have their own preference, but to say RAW is stupid, is in itself, stupid.
RAW includes the 6 on the D chart, its not fine. Randomness is fine, rolling 1 dice and killing 85% of all models in the game is not.
It is all in the perspective of the player. Noone likes to lose models. However, whether it is on one roll of the dice, or some grav centurions that have prescience and a grav amp, or a squad of fire warriors with emp grenades, there are many ways to lose a model in one phase of the game. If that's not your flavor, then how about 42 S10 attacks in the first phase of assault. That's probably going to cause you to pick up a model as well. In some of these cases, the D is the model's only defense or reason for being on the board.
well i thought about that and knights dont get a save against any of the things i mentioned, except for the grav cannons, and that is only on one facing. either way you are picking up models.
Assault requires you to travel to me in some way ( i could move away[interaction]), it involves a comparison of weapon skills ( i could have a high one[interaction]) and many models in the game have saves [interaction] against both Str 10 and Grav. Against the 6 D result, none of that applies. A Wraith Knight can start the turn 48" away and 1 out of 9 shots will make you pick up virtually any model in game[No interaction]. No if, and's or buts about it.
Example - My great unclean one doesn't give a crap about Grav and likely has multiple save against it. Invul/FNP
Even 42 str 10 attacks = 24 hits =20 wounds=14 wounds[invul save]= 10 wounds.[FNP]
He would die, but it wasn't overwhelming.
1 roll of a 6 with D, nothing matters he is dead.
