people who correct grammar on forums are just lame
I've lived in Austin 15 years. I've worked many SXSW back in my service industry days and I've gone to most. It's incredible. It's not about being cool, it's the best entertainment experience in the city, the tourists are actually nice, the parties are great and the music is often spontaneous and wonderful. Nevermind most of the good times are free. It's part of what makes this city great.
But I guess that opinion could change in a decade or so.
And my cool is not nice, it's abrasive and reactionary.
......and imaginary.
It was cool and a good time years ago before it turned into the yupster, hipster, corporate, soul selling, craptastic, mosterific, garbage that it is now.
I remember the days of paying $15 (that's right... only $15) and be able to see all the shows in classic venues (The Armadillo, Joe's Generic, Maggie May's, Stubb's ((before old man Stubb kicked the bucked in 95 and they sold themselves out)) and other classics). What are wristbands now, something like $250-$300? Im sorry, I refuse to pay that much to put up with the crowds and listen to mostly crap music along with "retired" singers and bands (see: we were gorked out of all sorts of drugs and alcohol in the 80's and we lost our contracts and couldn't get new ones so now we are doing our "Comeback"!!).
Nah, I will let other people get hoodwinked.
Hey you guys, do you think Brian likes me? I was gonna send him this note and ask him to check yes or no, but I don't want my feelings hurt.
Nice!
