Those who have Hive cities I need to know what you want them to count as this session. Xenos I assume Command Bastions again? If I am right in that assumption that means that the following bonuses will be in effect for the start of Turn 2:

Imperial vs Xenos:

Xenos will have 50 bonus points
Xenos will have +1 to deployment roll
Xenos will have +2 to determine table sides and to seize the initiative

Imperial vs Chaos:

Chaos will have 50 bonus points
Imperials will have +1 to determine table sides
Imperials will have +1 to pick deployment zones

Xenos vs Chaosl:

Chaos and Xenos both have 50 bonus points
Xenos will have +2 to determine table sides and to seize the initiative
Xenos get +1 to deployment roll
Xenos get +/- 1 to reserve rolls
Xenos may generate an additional warlord trait from any allowed table


Yes, I understand that Xenos came out on top in turn 1, and thus have good bonuses against the other factions. Remember this is in effect a beta of the new rules. Chaos and Imperials need to try to take back some of those special tiles, and if things are too overpowered we can adjust down, I have some ideas. Let's try to play as written for now though.

With that, it's time to determine challenges. Talk in your faction sub groups and figure out where you want to strike and against which faction. Remember things are running a little differently with the challenges this turn as we try to smooth things out.

Also, some of you know, but I am going to be out of town for the next two weeks vacationing in the Pacific Northwest and Cali. Not sure if this was asked, but if we have a character/army bonus to reserve rolls as well (like an autarch), I assume a 1 still fails? Or do we get auto-reserves? (which would be rad)

Also, so we decided that shield generator does not protect from ground attacks right?

No, the shield generator protects your spaceport, what we decided was that a spaceport would let you strike basically anywhere on another planet where you don't have a pressence. (I would say any unclaimed or non-special spot, you still have to have a force adjacent to a special to attack it). At least that was my recollection, and I did clean up the rules from what they had before and that is what it seems to indicate.

I thought JW had been added to Chaos.

He was filling in for Tx Plays, but I thought TxPlays was gonna be back. JW is first up for inclusion if/when a chaos player drops.

Two questions:
1) Any changes to the rules for retreating?
2) Is the roll to see if an IC survives only for named characters, or does it apply to generics as well?

Decisions can be made begining at the top of 4, and then again at the top of 5.

Someone else asked this, but it is intended to be all HQs, and or non-HQ ICs (not sure if there are any), (plus the special addition of the Avatar for fluff reasons). So yes, generics would roll as well.

so. for hqs always use the hq rules or can you choose the monstrous creature bonuses instead? the avatar or daemon prince for example

Sure they could choose either, but once you start taking them from one table all have to come from that same table (same as psykers have a choice). But I imagine that the HQ table is more powerful than the other, apart from the cover save benefit.

Todd - do we post the challenges accepted by our group here, or do you want them sent to you first?

We are still waiting for a couple of group members to check in, but for those that have decided I said it would be good to go ahead and contact the opponent to try and work out times and points for this week.

Question on the lists: can we reduce the number of bodies from our original overall list to pay for upgrades? So for example, drop 2 guys take a special weapon? This way the points are still there, i.e. everything has been paid for. I know we had discussed being allowed to drop guys if we needed to make points work, but this is a slightly different thing.

(basically, I realized that I forgot to add some options to my original list. In my case, these are not units that have seen battle, so I guess it would just be a straight swap in the original list that could just be permanent for the rest of the campaign, assuming the unit does not die horribly)

I, too, would probably change some things in my big list. But maybe we should wait and have some "fleet reinforcements" phase every four games where we can redo say 5000 points of the big list?

That would allow for some adjustments.

Reinforcements would be interesting. I had thought about allowing you to spend experience points to purchase reinforcements instead of adding skills. For example two units with 3 xp each, and instead of leveling them you spend those 6 points buying 'x' # of points of reserves. Let me think about it, and I welcome any input on how to best go about it, but as far as that goes I think that it should be done at the end of the turn.

Also, regarding reinforcements - I don't need reinforcements. I just wanted to know if a say 250 point squad with 8 dudes can instead be a 250 point squad with 6 dudes and special weapons; same type and all - basically just since we allow decrementation already, and we allow swaps for different arms already, this is just wondering why we can't treat bodies above the min required for squad size as squad upgrades that can be swapped like other upgrades, because that is essentially what they are. No big deal either way - have other things to put in instead that is probably nastier anyway.

Sorry, I copied and pasted from an earlier list I had going and forgot to update. I had wanted to play Noodlers, but then I saw that you already had played 3 Xenos games between the first two rounds, so I put you against Noodlers ... let me update it to show that, sorry.

I don't think I can get my game in this week or next. Sending a PM to eaglesmvp, but we'll need an alternate to step in.

I'll be keeping an eye on centex to see if an alt turns up for tonight, and if so I'll be there. otherwise i may not be at DL myself.
