Dude that cat is watching episode 1 cuz JarJar is his favorite character. Lucas put him in there for drunk cats. True story.
PS re-read Ferros first post. Very funny at this point!
Threadromancy!
WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE! BUT RISES AGAIN HARDER AND STRONGER!
Does that also go for your Nid army?
it will my friend. some day.
and Beamo: yes. yes it is.
Episode was pretty awesome.
did u see the gigante
Like John Snow, it was the first I had ever seen.....
Anyone else get upset at the story deviations?
Yeah upset may be too strong....just irritating. Cause I foresee them writing themselves into a hole now with what they are doing.
I have not seen or read season/book 3, however I did with parts one and two.
I was amazed how closed the show was to the book in part one but was irritated with part two.I doubt I will read anymore just so a I dont notice the difference.
Don't get me wrong, the show is amazing despite the changes. Most of the changes are minor and required so that they don't have a cast of a bajillion. So for the most part it's understandable. The parts that aren't like that are the only parts that are irritating. Trying not to give away spoilers so it's hard to explain.
The changes are done for the flow of the story. I think this piece sums it up pretty well:
io9 GoT story
The whole thing with Theon is a pretty big change, I am curious as to where that is going. I mean, a lot of this is done to show "concise" character arcs for TV. I used quotes cause we're still following like 20 characters, but you know what I mean. Shoot, if it was up to me, I'd just follow ONE character for the entire episode and have a time line a-la 24 style to show how the story is progressing.
shoot, if they followed the books, season 4 would pull a lost and have an entirely new cast on the other side of the island! and if that's a Lost Spoiler, you'll thank me for not disappointing you like the ending of that show. /lostfanburn!
Yea it's things like Theon and the woman Rob marries. Theon I can kinda see cause his whole story is crazy and hard to follow. But why does Rob marry a girl from across the water?! He was supposed to be wed to a Lannister, so I don't get that part at all. The gist is the same but just don't understand that bit at all.
Robb was suppose to marry one of the Frey girls (the ones from the water crossing) and in the books marries some chick from a lesser house cause he bangs her and want's to protect her honor...or something.
The one in the TV show is suppose to be more of a full character cause boobs. and they wanted to paint Robb and her relationship in a slightly different light to make for good TV drama.
Cause this.
Almost right adam. He was promised to a Frey girl but marries a Lannister.
In the book or show? I'm confused.
http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Jeyne_Westerling
Jeyne Westerling is from House Westerling. She was not a Lannister.
Ok so I didn't explain it right. The westerlings are sworn to House Lannister. That is more accurate. I just wrote lannisters cause it was easier.
Man I don't know what they are doing with Theon in the show but damn the got Dany's part down good this show!! Man that was awesome.
saw it coming cause I've read the book....but I was really excited in how they pulled it off. Liked it a lot.
My wife rewound Dany's awesome part twice. This whole women's lib thing is going to be a problem if they get dragons.
You see now I want to go watch the episodes before this one to see if she was playing opossum about knowing Valaryian.
What I meant not what I said: I want to watch the earlier episodes again to see if the actress who plays Dany was acting out she was playing opossum. I get everything that happened and the characters motives. I'm more curious about the actual acting. Intuitively I want to say I think it was acted this way, but I want to watch it to make sure.
i dont think we saw her possum this season. yet.
whoooaaahh eyyyyyy
I think she did a little bit. She kind of smirks a little when the slaver calls her names. She could do a much better job but not bad at all. I think overall she is nailing Dany's character pretty well.
So mark, you like tonight's episode?
