Reecius has gone too far

They are attending them because the run a lot of events, the rules are easy enough without weird ass missions, and they care about the game. If you don't like it - don't play. Man it isn't hard go to the things you want and if you don't like their rules - don't go. Whining about it online is pointless as the better vote is with your wallet. I just think there is too much whining all over - but I don't need to rage quit a game/store to feel validated. I just don't play if I think it is a bunch of bunk nonsense haha.

But let me tell you - normal D shooting weapons suck. They suck so hard that if I see an event that isn't doing something to deal with it - I just won't play it. There is no thought, no skill, nothing when someone just rolls dem 6's all over your face. But instead of losing my mind over it - I just won't play it. Pretty simple. Not that I have time as is but hey - I guess I could write an angry missive about how everything is smelly and I am sad. But again - I will just play with friends and go to events that I at least agree with most of the rules.

What is anyone ranting about? Nothing - just nonsense the whole thing. The idea of a post that gets mad at ITC for someone that most likely won't even play it so why rant. So meh... MEH!! hehe - and poking fun at people rage quitting as well. I call it life getting in the way quitting.

Still - 4-5 wraithknight suck big old donkey d$$k. Or Abe's Mom. Or a bunch of gym socks. Either way it wasn't fun how about that?

how do you know I wont play itc, I've never said that

Some local events use ITC so we kinda have to pay attention to it if we expect to play in them.

Others have said that - never said you didn't say it - just broad nonsensical ranting by myself cuz I felt left out.

And using ITC doesn't mean you use the FAQ - it normally just means missions at the very least or reporting it to the ITC thing for a game of x amount of people. That is why they say they use ITC. NOVA is an ITC game but they use their own FAQ and missions. ITC is just a broad term to mean your event's winners are used for ITC standings etc. So even though an event screams ITC it might not be an ITC full fledged use all the rules to get x amount of people butt hurt etc.

And again - you don't like it don't play. But nothing was directed at anyone in particular beyond making fun of people getting all mad and writing up about it. I would just rather paint more dudesmen as my baby gives me the stink eye.

I have said it before and since this is basically the same argument again, I'll say it again; ITC is a great concept but it's execution is a little wonky. This may be basic growing pains or it may be because it originated in California and those carpet baggers just don't think like normal people. Reece is a very nice guy. He is very personable and is the main reason people attend his event. He is everyone's friend when you are around him. That is a rare quality and certainly contributes to ITCs success.

Personally, I would love to see ITC get their act together rules wise because conceptually ITC is a great idea. They really need help with the execution, though. Scoring Maelstrom points at the end of the game turn is number one on my list.

Why is that? I just played one that scores at the beginning of your turn and let me tell you - it was the pits. Basically going first was so powerful because you could dictate the game - via alpha strike, powering up a star, and then even controlling the so call progressive/maelstrom like objective. The issue with Maelstrom is that it is very swingy in that there are times you just roll for **** on them. They can also be very unengaging if they are left like the book. Scoring them at the end of the turn forces your hand into doing something. It also means those lists that have to power up get a disadvantage. I mean - I know I play death stars so going first is usually what I want to do in most games - get closer - define the assaults - etc.

Plus - I just don't play the maelstroms if I feel they are not going my way. I quickly abandon that and do the primary and tertiary missions. It is just easier then getting mad that my rolls aren't - kill a unit or hold this poker chip that happens to be in my zone with Kanye. But man - I haven't like most people's "faqs" as everyone thinks they are the savior of whatever nonsense we like to call 40k.

Going second is more important than powering up in ITC. It's the same old advantage of going second in an objective game x2. You can not only score but you can deny your opponent and he can't do anything about it.

And again - that is why I don't play the maelstrom especially if I roll things that don't matter to my style of lists. Your wolf star should give to sh$$ts about holding an objective when its mission is to survive a ton of shooting and getting locked in.

There are distinct advantages to going first and second in any event we play in. It sorta sucks but that is the way the game is designed. Sometimes they push to hard to go 2nd being the best and other times going 1st is stronger. But every mission that was objective based always had 2nd being the best. Meh - like I said - just don't play it and concentrate on the things you can get. The ITC style is a W/L/D format where battle points are not always the best etc. So just know you are playing for 7 points.
