Tips & advice please.
I am working on a little project, and I have hit a bit of a snag. Was wondering if anyone had soem tips & tricks that may help.
Painting a Librarian, and attempting to make his left hand glow (psychic power in use).
How do I improve upon this glow?

Glow is about contrast and source lighting, so darken the undercoat before bringing out the light and determine the radiant points. Are you looking to have the whole hand glow, or just the fingertips?
This article might help. http://fromthewarp.blogspot.com/2011...powerfist.html

The whole hand.
and thank you.

And remember that it's going to light up the underside and lower edges of the gun (?) thing too. Looking good!

Yeah, I think the challenge is that the very large gun (storm bolter?) kind of draws attention away from the glowing hand. You'll have to involve it in the "glow" lighting if you want to really make it identifiable, I think. But you're on your way- the pose is cool, and I can totally see what you're going for, which is half the battle.

Thanks guys. Yeah, making the "glow" bounce off the storm bolter is the problem I am having. I want it to look real, but not over powering. If you catch my meaning.
btw... now that I hace converted two Librarians. Anyone interested in some Grey Knight bits. LOL !!!

You probably want to take a look at part 3 where they talk about the radiant light from the glow.
