I heard grandmas are big on custom kernels and ROMs. But why don't you have a Windows phone? Isn't having an Android like sleeping with the enemy?

I just don't know what to say about this. But if this is what makes you happy, you picked the right phone.

My Atrix has dual cores, 16 GB of RAM, and built-in Nvidia 3D acceleration.

Does your phone have the out-of-the-box capability to update to the latest OS when Google comes out with it? You basically bought a lump of hardware and you're on your own for software.

Here's the metaphor I use all the time when people do spec-sheet comparisons. Many years ago I was into auto racing; I lived in Southern California and was an active member of the car community. I knew a guy who'd done extensive work on his car and it was quite impressive on paper. It could beat Ferraris and Vipers in straight-line acceleration and was no slouch on the skidpad either. Yes, it was a 2300 lb, 440 horsepower, 1.2g of cornering force Nissan Sentra. He loved the car and he loved working on it. But at the end of the day, it was still a ****ing Sentra.

If playing Angry Birds on your big screen TV with your custom ROM Android phone is what you like, by all means do what you like. But the last thing I want to do is spend that much time ****ing around with a phone.
