They are not reserves. They just move on to the table like reserves. I've seen a grey knight player try to pull that before. Deploy dawn of war half way up, move thier vehicle with Coteaz and whatever cheese with him up 12 inches. When the other player moves on they try to claim they can use his special ability to shoot the units moving on turn 1.
