    40k FAQs

Lots of new FAQs went up today, most aggravatingly:

    A: No
Oh, and Heldrakes got better (their heads are now treated as turrets and Vector Strikes allow no cover saves, but random allocation) and you can now take a Noise Marine blastmaster below 10 marines in the unit.

Q: Can a Wolf Guard Pack Leader or Independent Character join a squad of Wolf Scouts and benefit from the Outflank special rule because at least one model has the ability? (p27)
    A: Yes.
Q: If so, do they roll to see where they enter play using the Wolf Scouts’ Behind Enemy Lines special rule or the normal Outflank special rule? (p27).
A: The normal Outflank special rule.

Q: Does Abaddon the Despoiler’s Mark of Chaos Ascendant prevent
him from joining friendly units chosen from Codex: Chaos Space
Marines that have a Mark of Chaos ? (p57)
    A: No.

There we go Mike....we knew this to be the case but for all the Derps out there here we go!

Q: The Maulerfiend model has a pair of magma cutters. Does this
mean that if it hits with at least one Attack in the Fight sub-phase
it gets to make one additional Attack with each magma cutter and
if it hits with all of its Attacks, it instead makes two additional
Attacks with each of its magma cutters? (p68)
A: No. The Magma Cutters rule covers the effects of both
the Maulerfiend’s magma cutters, which are treated as a
single weapon. They are also treated as a single weapon for
the purposes of Weapon Destroyed results.

I'm glad I was right about this one too.

I think you're just glad you're right about something.

I thought you might like that.

Also, I'm really not a fan of the shooting range thing. Too easy to exploit, and it hurts armies that try to shoot 24" in a particularly dumb manner.

I think it makes perfect sense. The issue that came up for Mike and I were fire dragons shooting at my NSM's. The 12in melta guns for all 5 guys were only in range of 2 guys in my squad. I figured, yea those guys are getting totally murdered but the max range of the gun shouldn't allow you to hit beyond your range. Before today I was wrong about that but I am glad they cleared it up now cause it makes more sense this way. I had thought this was the way everyone was playing since 6th started. not really sure why I had that notion but I know Tyson thought the same thing as well.
