    Find a Mentor

Please post here if you want to shape the minds and habits of new gamers!

This thread is intended to provide new players, or those new to the area, a directory of folks who have the time and patience to mentor others. If you post here, consider it a social contract that you will be happy to get PMs from random new people with whom you will gladly share your knowledge of rules and tactics.

Please post with your first name, games/armies you currently play and years experience in each game, stores where you regularly play games, and anything else you feel is relevant. Also, if you will be unavailable for some time, or quit playing a game, please come back in and clear/edit your entry.

Thanks all. Hopefully this aids some shy newcomers in breaking the ice. I've been there, it's not fun, and that is why I am making this thread.

I would like to help mentor the younger generation, I know some of the older people get exasperated doing it.
My name is Noah. I play warhammer 40k as Eldar, and some space marines.
Fine doing demonstration games. PM me if questions

"ok now that makes a lot of sense. yes you are correct ultramarines are the most boring version of the most boring army which is space marines." -Noodlers

Warmachine/Hordes: Played way back in MK1 and have been playing competitively for about a year now. I play mainly cygnar, but have a bunch of khador/legion/trolls/cryx/mercs too I usually play at Dragons Lair on Wednesdays. I am up for any point level from beginner to competitive.

Fantasy: Not looking to teach beginner fantasy, but if you want to improve your competitive play I will analyze your list and we can play a game. I am a 3 time European Team Championship Team USA member, the 1st GW USA Circuit Champion, the 1st Ardboyz Champion, and best general in every Texas GT in 2012. I usually play at DL.

    Sam Pope:

Play Warhammer 40k, willing to mentor younger people. I play Blood Angels and Tau, and look forward to helping anyone. PM me if you want to do a game. I have 5 years of experience.
    About 5000 Blood Angels
Tau: Deleted from records, nobody likes tau.

Brian is no doubt a good teacher (and all-around nice guy and good friend), but be wary of the tactics he preaches.

His tactics with Abaddon (the "baddest dude in the galaxy") include:

    1. Hiding in a Land Raider like a terrified schoolgirl
    2. Mighty Abaddon being laid low by a common loyalist terminator

Also, ask him about Electrodisplacement and Invisibility...
Malory: Jesus, God, Sterling. School girls?!
Archer: Oh, those are just costumes.
Malory: And I suppose that makes it better?
    Archer: Doesn't it?
