    Stop Stealing

It has been communicated that Dragon's Lair has been seeing a hit to their GW product. Fantasy and 40k. So don't point fingers across party lines. Recently they had to move their in house GW reference materials and game aids. They are losing box product from the walls. Codices are already ask a rep to buy. No one wants game product to be the same.

I hope it's no one here, no one I know would do it, and it's not happening at Wonkos or other stores we go to.

But we can talk about community and what it means when it comes to yelling about lists and Tactics and formations here, but Centex can't give us a place to play together, to paint, to trade together. The word community doesn't mean anything if we don't have a place to be one.

There's no name or person suspected or anything like that.

We need to make sure it stops, because now we're in a situation where the store does not trust us. The capital "U" us. So keep your eyes out, and if you're doing it stop.

We caught the last person that was stealing a few years back. He is no longer part of the community. Keep your eyes open people.

Just out of curiosity, was wondering if anyone had thoughts on how the GW product area might be made less prone to this sort of thing. This isn't on behalf of the store, though if there was a good idea I would imagine they'd appreciate hearing it at least. It just seems like the way the gaming tables are set up currently it makes it easy for someone inclined to steal to drop out of sight of employees.

Also, I know I often bring in stuff to assemble that I had purchased on an earlier day; I imagine employees don't want to be in the position of asking for proof of purchase if they see someone opening up a box of minis, but there may be a painless solution that minimizes the ability of someone to mask their theft in such a normal activity (obviously, I don't know if that is the sort of thing going on, but it is clearly a possibility) that would help the staff (and us) discern between purchased product and non-paid-for items.

Anyway, just want to keep this topic front and center to raise awareness. It really sickens me that this is an issue.

It's the Warmachine players. They're jealous.

How about a video camera and a few big signs 'This area is under video surveillance'?

I actually saw a sign tonight, not sure if it was new as reading this thread earlier I guess made it stand out more today. But it was only standard paper sized, and I couldn't tell where the camera might be, if there was one there even. I guess that is one thought, making a camera very obvious. And make sure it can catch what happens in the lower space between the tables and wall where you can't really see what a person is doing form across the store.
