Well...it too forgot the stupid rule about large bases and ion tokens, so it shot Han instead of wedge with the ion cannon trying to guarantee them running into the bomb. Vader was kinda-but-not-very useful because most of the vader crits went onto Chewie. It did get off more shots than usual because I started with a snail-like one forward/stop/one forward/stop movement strategy.

I think the snail-flight it one of only two good ways to fly that thing. The other being Engine Upgrade.

Yeah so I was pretty much totally unaware of how dangerous Vader is or the Boba Fett bomb for that matter, so I flew my stuff too close together and right at him! He focused on Han and brought him and Wedge down at the same time with Boba, losing Boba in the process (probably a fair trade). That left me with an untouched Chewie, who blasted everything else save the last Firespray to bits and it came down to who got to shoot first in the last turn. If Han had survived instead of Chewie, I obviously would've won, because as we all know...Han shot first.

Anyway, I felt like the tactics I employed were a bit bad just because I wasn't familiar with how all of SV's stuff worked, but that's why you play the game.

Oh, and my list, which I have since tweaked a little, so I'll try to remember.

    Wedge with R2D2 and Marksmanship
Han with the Falcon upgrade, engine modification, Luke, Nien Nunb, marksmanship (I think)
Chewie with a gunner, engine modification, veteran instincts.

I'm probably going to drop the engine modifications off the YTs since I think there are more valuable actions for them to take and they're already pretty manueverable.

I think if I were running multiple YT's, I might have put more of the "good stuff" on Chewie. As it sits, I looked at the list, saw this absolutely terrifying Han and a Chewie that's harder to take down (because of the no crits ability) and said yep! Han dies first. Splitting the stuff up would make it a more difficult choice (that, and Han/Luke/marksmanship seems like massive overkill on hitting accuracy).

Overall, I don't find darth vader all that incredible, he chews through my own hp too fast with his hatred. But as you can tell from my list (vader, Autoblaster, bomb) I like anything that takes the randomness of defense dice out of killing the enemy.

The bomb though, yeah. Familiarize yourself with all 3 bombs. Ask Chris what happens when someone spams bombers...I was afraid I was telegraphing the bomb far too much and you'd hit full throttle to jump over it, but if you were unaware of bomb rules that makes how the game went down make more sense. That's in theory why I play bombs with Fett, so he can go last and drop the bomb on the proper turn...but all the rebel lists I've played recently have been pretty close to nothing but PS 8 and 9 super jerks. Same with the interceptor who jumps out of people's LoS with boosts and barrel rolls after he attacks.

Yeah I'll definitely be a lot more careful next time around ;-) It was a good learning experience and still being able to almost pull off a win after losing 2/3s of the list at one whack, I'm pretty pleased.

I Ion Cannon'd Fett off the table yesterday :P

Brandon tried to use Daredevil to make a sharp turn and light my guys up but couldn't fit so was forced to turn the other way. Normally not an issue for fett but he was pointed at the edge of the table now.....ion go!

I never feel like Marksmanship gives that big a benefit over just taking a Focus action. I'd rather drop Marksmanship and pick up Saboteur and save a point. The boost on the YTs should be used to move them out of firing arcs, or out of range 1; it is a defensive action as much as anything else. You can try the YT without it, but I always miss it when I don't take it.

Good point...and with gunners, it makes them a lot more dangerous. I'll do that and see what happens.
