I pledge to start a tau army the next time they get an update....I just can't see playing them with the current rule set.

Was it that funny or are you just trying to get your post count up?

For the normal person, yes. But I see Sam as this out-of-control forum troll/machine that has no more human emotions left, so therefore in his case, it couldn't.

the 48" is the kroot gun str 7 ap4 rapid fire is only on the krootox rider and costs 35pts, then there's the railgun at 72, rail rifle at 36, and ion cannon at at 60, not to mention the seeker missile at unlimited. so its not too bad and don't forget the markerlight system that can increase the BS of a unit up to BS 5

How does the markerlight system work? Does it affect the whole squad? And if it does affect the squad/unit how long does it last? Does every squad have the option of taking said ability?

Sorry for the questions, but I am out of town for work and don't have access to a codex and am genuinely curious...

a markerlight drone can be attached to the unit(vehicle, squad... etc.) its also standard on all pathfinder carbines. after the system has hit its target you(counts as shooting) put markerlight tokens by the unit 'tagged'. after you are done with all marker light shots you can then use the tokens for things, a +1 to BS up to BS 5, fire a seeker missile at BS 5 from a nearby vehicle for 1 token, get minuses to ldr for pinning tests for the unit tagged and -1 for each counter to your opponents cover saves. but between oh... jump up onto a hill in the movement phase marker light with drones (cause drones marker lights are considered twin linked yay for the re-roll misses) on intended target(within 36" for the system) then nail them with ballistic skill 5 shots and then hop back down onto the other side of the hill where no one can see you in the assault phase because of the jet pack rule. unless of course you wiped out said unit... then go find next unit to target.
