    Texture paints?

    Have you used them?

    What do you think?

I've used a few. They are good for if you're doing a bunch of simple basing and want to save some time. But you'll get much better results creating the texture and then painting it.

I agree, so far I'm not that into them, but I've been basing my models since I started. I glue the sand to my base and then I attach my model. On the other hand though, I've played with several people in the past who do a 3 color min. on their armies and no basing what-so-ever. For me, nothing takes me out of the game more than half-done models. Not W.I.P. models, just models that someone says "is done" and clearly they've skipped over all the cool detail. So now, if these texture paints get people into basing who normally weren't it's good. For the rest of us, meh.
