Eldar might have the last laugh depending on how the Wraithknight and the Big D work out

Hmmm....295 points for a T8 model with 6 Wounds and FNP (effectively 8 wounds), that has a 3+ save, a 5++, gets cover from having a toe in, moves 12" at a time with Jump move ignoring terrain, has 4 Str D I5 WS4 attacks, gets D3 Stomp attacks every I1, only gets wounded by poison on a 6+, can shoot 2 str 10 ap 2 shots at two different targets each turn, only suffers D3 wounds from instant death and removed from play, and it has Move Through Cover and Strikedown just for fun. And you can take as many as you want with Formations that don't take away slots from other types of units you need.

Meanwhile, it's 290 points for a daemon prince that is 4 wounds, toughness 5, no eternal warrior, no FNP, same saves, and 5 str 6 ap 2 attacks, and psyker lvl 3 and the cheapest daemon type, and it is limited to 2 max as HQs normally in CSM and as 3 heavies if you take CSM and a greater daemon.

Guess I called that one. Last laugh indeed.

Edit: If I understand things right, this is one Eldar detachment of roughly 1850-2000 points?

2 Wraithknights, 1 squad of vypers, 1 warseer on bike with warlock conclave on bikes, 3 now-cheaper crimson hunters in the crazy good formation, and 20-30 jetbikes with scatterlasers for 80-120 str 6 shots. So you have awesome anti-infantry and anti-light vehicle shooting, the entire army is ultra mobile for escaping melee or taking objectives, you have good psychic casting and defense, you will rule the skies, and the Wraithknights will destroy pretty much anything in the game in close combat.

    I'm good.

If they tone down wave serpents and give Iyanden more shenanigans, we all win.

Really looking forward to this - I've missed the idiosyncracies of 3rd ed eldar. Hoping that BielTan and Ulthwe have something cool.

So far it looks like you can take more Wraithknights than before, but they get all the crazy bonuses from being Gargantuan, AND their sword and the heavy wraith cannons are all D now.

So much for the butt hurt I guess. And here I thought they would nerf Wraithknights!

Guess we will just wait to see how many points they are now; has to be a really big increase... at least Imperial Knight range if not more...

That was my thought as well. It seems like they are substantially better than Knights, if you take the right upgrades. It'll be interesting to see if they have any downsides from being Wraith constructs.

Not sure about the rumors of D, meaning destroyer. Cause eldar have had D-distort weapons forever. Think some people may just be confused.

Could be wrong, but it just seems excessive, even for GW.
