this is the nicer version of what I have to say

ok guys, if y'all didn't go last year, they had 6 WM/H events.
Hardcore / blitz mangled metal
2x qualifiers (50pt steamrollers)
masters / 35pt flanks
Its called "Warmachine Weekend" because its a full weekend of events. As far as I know, they have not approved the WGC application to be an ACTUAL "Warmachine Weekend Qualifier".
AS much as Id like to ala cart the events I will be in (and most of the people from the store I play at are in that boat) It was pretty solid last year. I played way more WM/H than I could handle. Luckily this is early enough that if we WANT a team event, whos the boss, Iron Arena... We could take it to the powers that be. Which is Will Pagani. I"ll post on their forum and ask them to monitor this one.
We are planning on having a Team Tournament this year. It will probably be similar to the Templecon tournament (50 point, 3 player teams). I'm pushing for another old school Hardcore as well. The Masters on Sunday will almost certainly be 50 point steamroller, perhaps with the specialist variant. If there are requests for tournament types this year, PM me or just post them here.
I can't speak for anyone else, but my main issue was from the original email I received that only listed "Warmachine Weekend" for the Warmachine/Hordes players. When I think of Warmachine Weekend, I don't think of a weekend spent playing Warmachine, I think of the actual event. When I read that, I was concerned that every event at WGC would be geared towards qualifying for Warmachine Weekend. No offense to the people who run that convention, but I don't think WGC should be a fluffer for them. There should be a healthy mix of qualifying tournaments, as well as one-off tournaments.
Seems like things are going in that direction though, so that's a good sign.
Lets be honest. the website was made by people who play 40K and only 40K. They don't know all the ins and outs of our community, and have even outsourced it all. From that perspective, they can only put up what they know about and need to be fed accurate information. Ive been emailing the powers that be and am bugging other people to get communication more fluid. (I even corrected the Kotei part on the l5r ticket). If we keep positive and try to help the 40K players understand our world, then things will go better for us.
I bet the winner of Masters will get the qualifying spot, and the rest of the events will either lead into masters or just be "to play warmachine"
I'm in talks with my FLGS to run Who's The Boss (We ran it a few weeks ago, had 90 casters and it was INSANE). If need be, I'll run the ****ing thing myself as after hours gaming in order for people to feel like they aren't being pigeon holed.
Or you guys could just flip out and start cursing. That's cool too.
There's really only one way to settle this.
