Wash for the wash God! How awesome is it that we started Khorne just in time for a Khorne book.
Also, this just happened:

Cleaning greenstuff mess and stabbed my hand.
You think I didnt?
let's see if this works. finished painting the grots, still need to finish the bases. first shot are a couple of the official models, in all their one pose glory. Also, I swear these models are the worst finecast I have had to deal with, I guess it is all the protruding elements. I gave up on trying to fix all the holes and stuff.

Second set are the ones I converted from skaven rat ogres. I am very happy with them, since generally my conversions turn out pretty awful. I painted these differently since the size is a little bigger, so they are ork -based. The first set are tau-based, which comes from the fluff from the previous codex. Hint - never ever go on a cultural exchange to comorragh.

Grotesques are one of my favorite DE models, but I think I like your rat ogre versions better! :)
Thanks Jim! I have seen conversions for these with lots of different base models, but I think the rat ogres are most consistent with the scale of the talos bits. Plus regular ogres have the beer gut, which doesn't fit the wasp-waist aesthetic to me.
My favorites are the ones from the IoB set, as they have some of the industrial elements already (those are the top two in the pic of the 5 converted). Plus less fur - I decided to shave off the fur on all these, as well as the loincloths and tails. There was much cursing and many flesh wounds, as I am pretty cavalier (stupid) in terms of knife safety protocol.
