Really liked the scoring system and it was personally nice that id been exposed to it over several DL tournaments. I liked that both scores had to add up to 30 pts each game. Made scoring simple and easy to recal how many point I had from game to game. At times I didn't like that both players could not score full points on some objectives (kill the HQ) but I understand now that if every game equals 30 it is much simpler and less room for error.
One change that I'd like more than any other but probably won't happen: For the love of christ start the events later in the day. Waking up at 7am is a horrible, cruel punishment that no one should have to endure. I work nights, and trying to shift my schedule from staying up until 7 to waking up at 7 just leads to pain. Start at 10 or 11 and just have the games go later. No one likes alarms on the weekends.
i loved it all. only minor thing was i was frustrated wen the rt scoresheet was not listed in score order like the tier a bracket was. took forever to see how i did relatively on day 2, especially with all the fatheaded dorks that feel the need to put their face right up to the sheet and block anyone standing a decent distance away from reading.
Sorry, I listed it alphabetically, but didn't realize until later that it was by first name. I was trying to make it easier to find yourself, not harder. :)
Give Best Story a prize. And don't forget to announce it. It's all I'm good at, and clearly the only shot I have at wargames con success.
I think you should arrange it so you don't have the final awards/raffles during the Warmahordes finals.
I won it. They didn't announce it, and I just got a ribbon (which is fine) but a prize would be cool, as would announcing it. I realize I'm whining, but at that point I just wanted to go home, but thought a little recognition would have been awesome after facing 50 shades of grey and their power-weapons all weekend.
EDIT: Also to be clear, despite my above whinging, it was a fun weekend. I had a great time.
