I'm from the San Marcos area but i go to Dragons Lair on Wednesdays for D&D encouters but I am looking to switch over to Warmachine so I am coming here to get info and ask questions because i have never played a Minis game before :D
Hello! My name is Josh Hunter and I recently joined The Gaming Garage group on Facebook as well as the San Antonio Warmachine/Hordes Sand Narrows League.
I'm greatly looking forward to playing some games, since I have a lot of theory and models, but not a lot of experience.
I play Warmachine and Hordes, but I also have a bunch of Monsterpocalypse stuff I never was able to find anyone to play with.

At this time I play with some friends wherever I can catch a game, haven't made it down to DL yet for a pickup or tourney even though I have been here a little over a year. Work keeps me busy most the time. Look forward to meeting you all sometime and getting more involved with the community.

You can always jump in if you want, I'm sure. Ian would probably allow you to get in some lower point games as well. You might have to play and paint your ass off for the next few weeks if you want to win any of the titles, but that's only if you're worried about those. If you join you'll also probably have the chance to play a lot more games -- I know some of us haven't had much time lately, so have been budgeting most of it for League games. And I'm sure there would be people more than willing to play whatever point game you need to get comfortable with it if Ian's cool with it.Quote:

Not generally, no, but for a tournament or something where I'd be spending a good amount of time at the Austin DL? Sure! I think I'll have to make some excursions in the future once I'm a little more comfortable with the game (still re-learning and getting a practical knowledge of the minis I own.)Quote:

First off Welcome and there is nothing down south right now. So on Thursdays we meet at DL for 40k. It starts at 5pm and there is people ready to throw some dice! :DQuote:

I've recently relocated from the Spokane, WA area (briefly by way of LA) where I played at some of the area's many awesome stores: Gamer's Haven, Merlyn's, Strategy & Games, Hobbytown USA. I'm bound to stick around for at least the next year.
Currently I've got a ridiculous number of SM bikes and have also started a terrible GK flying librarian/henchmen army.
If you're looking for a game downtown during the week just let me know. I'm planning on finishing a proper table sometime this winter/spring.

Interested in 40k
Recently moved to Austin and am looking to get back into tabletop gaming after about a 7-8 year break. Played a lot of 40k a long time ago in 3rd edition but then got sucked into the world of ccgs. Kind of unsure what army to start since it has been so long but I used to play Tau, Deathwing, and Chaos (daemons are seperate now???). Anyway, I am looking forward to starting up again and meeting everyone!

DL will be the best place I think because when I was new the guys took me in. I have learn how to really play 40k and they are a bunch of good guys. Also we have that guy Darkwynn from the internet! :DQuote:

Welcome to the forums and the Austin scene. Great group of guys you can fall in with over at Dragons Lair. The store holds monthly events for WarmaHordes, plenty of people here can answer any questions you have for anything hobby or Austin related.
